Sixteen-year-old Selena Fallon is a dreamer. Not a daydreamer, but an I-see-the-future kind of dreamer. Normally, this is not a problem, as she has gotten pretty good at keeping her weird card hidden from everyone in her small town. But when Selena dreams of her own rather bloody death, things get a little too freaky—even for her.
Enter Dillan Sloan. Selena has seen the new guy in a different dream, and he is even more drool-worthy in person. Beyond the piercing blue eyes and tousled dark hair, there is something else that draws her to him. Something…electric. Too bad he acts like he hates her.

When Selena learns she’s being targeted by a force bigger and darker than anything she ever imagined, she’s had enough. Despite her death dream, Selena is not going to give up easily, especially when she discovers that Dillan isn’t what he seems…and might not actually hate her after all. Dillan might be the only person who can save her.

What do you like about writing in the paranormal/urban fantasy genre?
There are so many possibilities. I say add a little magic and creatures to something and you can create an entire universe.

Do you ever experience writer's block?
No. It’s more like writer’s procrastination. This gets bad when I listen to the doubts in my head telling me “this is going to suck” or “that’s not going to work.” Bring the negative and it messes with creativity.

Do you write an outline before every book you write?
No. I feel that limits my creativity. I usually just go where the story wants to take me.

Do you see yourself or people you know in your characters?
Not really. Many of my characters are fully formed when they arrive in my head.

Describe your book in 5 words
When Supernatural meets Gilmore Girls.

What are you reading now?
Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

What’s your go to comfort item while writing? (candy, coffee, music)
Water with lots of ice I can chew on.

Thank you so much for letting me hang out with your readers today. I had so much fun! If anyone else has questions, chat me up on Twitter @KateEvangelista. I’m looking forward to hearing from you! Happy reading!

When Kate Evangelista was told she had a knack for writing stories, she did the next best thing: entered medical school. After realizing she wasn't going to be the next Doogie Howser, M.D., Kate wandered into the Literature department of her university and never looked back. Today, she is in possession of a piece of paper that says to the world she owns a Literature degree. To make matters worse, she took Master's courses in creative writing. In the end, she realized to be a writer, none of what she had mattered. What really mattered? Writing. Plain and simple, honest to God, sitting in front of her computer, writing. Today, she lives in the Philippines and writes full-time.
