Gone Too Far by Natalie D. Richards #BookReview #Playlist #DreamCast #Giveaway

Keeping secrets ruined her life. But the truth might just kill her.

Piper Woods can't wait for the purgatory of senior year to end. She skirts the fringes of high school like a pro until the morning she finds a notebook with mutilated photographs and a list of student sins. She's sure the book is too gruesome to be true, until pretty, popular Stella dies after a sex-tape goes viral. Everyone's sure it's suicide, but Piper remembers Stella's name from the book and begins to suspect something much worse.

Drowning in secrets she doesn't want to keep, Piper's fears are confirmed when she receives an anonymous text message daring her to make things right. All she needs to do is choose a name, the name of someone who deserves to be punished...

Gone Too Far is definitely my type of contemporary. It had a great mystery and a little bit of a thriller edge. I loved the way Natalie D. Richards was able to engage me and hold me there through the whole book. I didn’t want to put it down. It kept feeling like I had to read just a few more pages, just so I could figure out who was sending Piper the texts.

The plot was pretty awesome. It was creepy when Piper finds the notebook with in the first few pages of the book. I was looking over my shoulder for that part. I actually did not figure out the mystery by the end, which is unusual for me. So I got to have the OMG did that just happen moment. I might have been too absorbed in Piper and Nick. I was seriously swooning over their cuteness.

I loved Piper and Nick’s interactions. It’s one of my favorite ways for a romance to bloom. I felt myself swoony at Nick and his persistence. I loved that he didn’t give up and he didn’t hide his agenda either. He was absolutely adorable. The way that he would make sassy Piper fumble over herself. So cute.

I liked the division of class, it’s sounds weird but I know in my own experience I was picked on elementary through middle school. By the time we got to high school there wasn’t really anyone picking on anyone. It was more you just stayed out of each other's way. The way Piper describes the line being drawn in the sand. You’ve learned who you can trust and who you can’t by that point.

Piper was pretty sassy and I liked that she was the school photographer. It gave her more of an ability to slide in and out of situations so it wouldn’t be weird if she was anywhere. I also liked that the book had so many different characters of different varieties. Piper’s core group of Tacey, Manny, Connor and Hadley. Then of course Nick, Tate and freaking Jackson. Then the other players like Stella, Kristen, Harrison and even Aimee. It makes things more interesting.

I don’t want to give anything away but I really enjoyed the book. It had me hooked and I felt like the mystery was awesome. A great read.

I have two playlist for you. I have what's on Piper's Ipod and my own playlist for the book.

My Playlist
I was in a weird mood when I made the playlist.

My cast are the people who stood out to me the most.

Piper Woods
Katie Findlay
I actually had to really think about this one. I wanted someone that I could picture carrying around a camera. Which sounds weird because anyone can carry around a camera. Photographers to me have a certain look.

Nick Patterson
William Moseley

Tacey
Jennifer Lawrence
They talk about Lacey's curves a lot which makes me think of Jennifer Lawrence.

At seven, Natalie D. Richards wrote about Barbara Frances Bizzlefishes (who wouldn't dare do the dishes.) Now she writes about awesome girls, broody boys, and all things dark and creepy. Natalie lives in Ohio (Go Bucks!) with her techno-wiz husband, three amazing kids, and a seventy pound dust-mop who swears he's the family dog. Her psychological thriller, Six Months Later, will be released in October 1, 2013 by Sourcebooks Fire. Until then, you'll probably find her writing her next book or trying to wade through the towers of dog-eared paperbacks that have taken over her bedroom.
