For as long as Alice can remember, she has dreamed of Max. Together they have traveled the world and fallen deliriously, hopelessly in love. Max is the boy of her dreams—and only her dreams. Because he doesn’t exist.

But when Alice walks into class on her first day at a new school, there he is. It turns out, though, that Real Max is nothing like Dream Max, and getting to know each other in reality isn’t as perfect as Alice always hoped.

When their dreams start to bleed dangerously into their waking hours, the pair realize that they might have to put an end to a lifetime of dreaming about each other. But when you fall in love in your dreams, can reality ever be enough?

I have to say Dreamology really intrigued me. I love reading books that have to do with dreams because of the way I myself dream. We definitely get that trippy magical ride through wonderland.

In the beginning of the book I really liked Alice. She was fun and interesting. Kind of carefree but as the book progressed I started liking her less I think her immaturity and her need for the dreams as her security blanket kind of shone through. It’s almost like she didn’t get to hit rock bottom until she meets Max in real life. When she was dreaming she didn’t have to face reality but once he’s in reality she has no choice.

I like that it takes the term dream guy literally and answers the question can your dream guy actually measure up in real life. What a twist on that whole frame of thought. Max at first comes across as the complete opposite of his dreamscape self. He changes as we progress in the story as well but I went from not liking him as much to see that he’s really the one who has dealt with life.

I loved Sophie, Oliver and even Celeste. I thought they brought humor and depth to both Alice and Max.

There are definitely parts of the book that are trippy. Especially with the dreams. I’m not sure why I thought of cotton candy every time we go to a dream sequence but I did. I liked how Alice and Max are connected but I felt some things towards the end came a little too easily. The book has a great pace though and makes it easy to read.

I did enjoy Dreamology. I thought it was pretty interesting and the characters have kind of interesting way of developing.
