Feature and Follow Friday is a blog hop that is designed to provide some much-appreciated exposure to the bloggers participating, and to expand their following. Hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read, each of whom feature a chosen blog for the week, it's an interesting way to get to know one another.

Q: Bookshelf Tour. Give us a tour of your bookshelf.
I've actually been trying to work on my bookshelves and do some remodeling. I turned my living room into a library because really who uses a living room anyway. We spend most our time in our family room. So it's still a work in progress because I need to get more shelves.
This is the grand view of my shelves. That thing in the middle is the turtle tank. I would probably give him away but my kids like him so he lives there in between the bookshelves. One of these days this whole wall across will be shelves though.
So the first section is a mess of stuff. My husband complains because I keep taking away his shelves. He's got two shelves here for his sports books and music books. He's got some other random things. Then there is a mix of old books, Historical biographies and historical fiction. I think some YA is still hanging out there and some of my favorite adult authors like Amy Tan.
This is where the majority of my YA books live. I used to have them divided by signed books but I have come to realize I am lucky to have a large majority of my books signed. Currently there is no rhyme or reason to my organization but eventually I'll figure it out. There is also some adult books and fairy tales/mythology books in there too.
This is a pile of books that I don't know where to put yet. I have a ton more probably still at my parents house. I think my mom is hanging on to them to make her shelves look full. I also have so many manga books I could probably fill those three shelves that I have. One of those boxes has my extra books (some signed) that I have to decide if I'm going to donate to the library or do a giveaway.
HOLY MOLY you have a lot of books :) good for you!!

Two shelves for sporting stuff is really generous :) When my bookshelves get too full, I offload some onto my mother's bookshelves. I slip them in a few at a time so she doesn't notice. Here’s my F&F

Sounds like my boyfriend and your husband would get along! Most of his things are in the basement now... that's just what happens when you fall in love with a bibliophile!
ReplyDeleteAnd I've got to ask... what's your turtle's name?
Here's my FF. Stop by, if you feel so inclined!:

Brilliant use of a living room, Jen! I love that you share shelves with your hubby too. And that the turtle gets to share space as well! LOL Thanks for stopping by my place earlier and following. I'm following you now, too. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love your shelves Jen! When we moved into our new house (which is on the same property as our old house) one of the bedrooms was specified as my library...but my big shelves never made the move. I have other shelves in the house now, but my library still hasn't been set up LOL. One day...one day! Have a great weekend!
